While ElectionRunner can't change votes, the MSA Board can delete ballots. These bylaw changes were rushed through to block qualified candidates from running in 2026. Learn how to take back your vote and protect your democratic rights before it's too late.

URGENT: FORMAL OBJECTION
Formal Objection to the MSA Bylaw Amendment Vote — Why Members Should Demand a Fair Process
Members received less than 13 hours' notice between the bylaw amendment email and ballot opening. This rushed process violates California nonprofit law and member rights. The vote must be suspended until proper notice and fair process can be provided.

From overnight voting windows to bundled governance changes affecting candidacy requirements and voting rights—discover why this process is invalid under California law and what members must demand to protect their democratic rights. This isn't just about bylaws—it's about your voice.

Election Transparency
Are Members Being Cut Out of Their Own Union?
The MSA Bylaws are clear: members must be given proper notice of nomination periods and elections. That notice wasn't issued until I publicly raised the issue. Without transparency and proper process, members lose their voice.

Discover how election notices almost didn't happen, artificial barriers were created for nominations, and why transparency isn't optional in union leadership. It's time to put members back at the center of the MSA.

CalPERS Reform
CalPERS Fix for MSA Members (1994–2012): Turning "Miscellaneous" into Public Safety Time
No one fixed this since the error started in 1994. I took on the fight—and I'm getting it done for our MSA Sergeants and Lieutenants.

If you were hired 1994–2012 and had service coded as Miscellaneous when it should qualify as Public Safety, we'll reclassify that time so it counts under your CalPERS Safety formula. This means earlier retirement and higher accrual rates for corrected years.

How We Fixed a Group of MSA Sergeants' and a Lieutenant's Retirement—And What It Means for You
On September 15, 2025, the San Francisco Civil Service Commission amended Civil Service Rule 114.20, clearing the path to grant retroactive status in Class 8504 (Deputy Sheriff) for eligible members.

This correction moves qualifying time that was previously under "Miscellaneous" retirement into "Public Safety" retirement—often adding about a year (or more) of public-safety service credit and moving retirement eligibility sooner. Learn how I executed this fix for MSA members and what it means for your retirement.
